Gunfire erupted as Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies responded to a reported assault with a deadly weapon in Lancaster early Friday morning, leaving one man hospitalized and another under arrest.
Deputies were called around 2 a.m. to the area of Elm Avenue and Oldfield Street after receiving reports of an assault with a deadly weapon and shots fired involving a family disturbance.
The initial call came from the 44000 block of Elm Avenue, where two adult women were reportedly involved in a physical altercation, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
