More than 200 pounds of marijuana were seized at Orlando International Airport after two separate investigations uncovered drugs that had arrived on flights from Los Angeles, according to police records and local news reports. Investigators said the marijuana was found before it could leave the airport, Fox 35 Orlando reported.
The first case happened on May 7. Orlando police said officers watched a traveler collect two large suitcases from a baggage claim area. Investigators later found about 57 pounds of marijuana packed inside dozens of vacuum-sealed bags. Police said the bags were wrapped in blankets and mixed with dryer sheets, which are sometimes used in attempts to hide odors.
