New drone images show 101 Freeway crossing ahead of official opening

New drone video and photos show the view from above a wildlife crossing in Agoura Hills designed to provide a safe path for mountain lions and other animals across the 101 Freeway when it opens in a few weeks.

The images offer a look at the native plants on the deck of the Wallis Annenberg Wildlife Crossing, scheduled to officially open Dec. 2 over the freeway northwest of Los Angeles. When complete, the project will connecting a natural habitat divided by 10 lanes of busy road.

The concrete deck spans the freeway and adjacent Agoura Road, where a section of bridge was recently complete in a milestone for the project. Crews are working to move and install about 3 million cubic feel of soil required to connect the bridge over the freeway to the Agoura Road bridge. The soil also will be used to provide landscape to the north of the freeway…
