A man was killed Thursday morning on the truck route of the southbound 5 Freeway.
Around 10:30 a.m. Thursday, first responders received reports of a traffic collision involving a pedestrian on the southbound 5 Freeway in the truck route near the 5-14 Freeway interchange, said Kaitlyn Aldana, spokesperson with the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
“It was a traffic collision involving a pedestrian,” Aldana said.
California Highway Patrol (CHP) logs stated that a man was found lying facedown “partially in (the) slow lane” near the end of the Truck Tunnel.
Initial reports from CHP noted that a vehicle had been located near the scene that may be connected to the incident.
