Southern California Storm Parade for The First Week of February: Raiden Storm Pattern of Feb 2024

Days ago, I mentioned that the beginning of February would have a storm pattern. As such, this is a Raiden Storm Pattern and has a high probability of bringing multiple storms to Southern California, starting February 1st and 2nd and having one every few days after that until around the 10th.

The jet stream is going to dip into a position to bring both cold and warm storms into the region. We are still several days out from the first one, again around February 1st and 2nd, but from what the Southern California Weather Force precipitation risk model shows, we have more flooding on the horizon. So far this season in Los Angeles, we are at 4.74″ of rain. Normal in Los Angeles is just under 15″. The forecast here at Southern California Weather Force was for average to below, but not completely dry, which means the 10-15″ mark.

These could deliver another 4″ on top of the current, which would bring us to just under 9″ by February 10th. That means another pattern would follow before we slow it down through March, the next pattern likely the third or last week of February. Confidence in us at least getting to average for the season remains.
