This week, federal charges charging the sales of cocaine, methamphetamine, and fentanyl led to the arrest of several suspected members of a drug trafficking gang operating in the San Fernando Valley.
Law enforcement officials reported that they found 14 guns, $153,000 in cash, two pounds of methamphetamine, and various other illegal drugs during the execution of search warrants at five different locations.
A federal grand jury indictment including fifteen counts was filed on Tuesday, accusing seven defendants of conspiracy among other offenses.
Giselle Buraye, 23, of Van Nuys; Efren Meraz Jr., 35, of Sylmar; Max Roman-Betancourt, 41, of Sunland; and Esteban Armas, 36, of Panorama City, were the four recently detained suspects who were set to be arraigned in federal court in Los Angeles on Wednesday.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Los Angeles Field Division’s Special Agent in Charge, Christopher Bombardiere, stated in a news release that “reducing violent crime in our community and throughout our country is the priority of ATF.”
