LAPD Officers, Good Samaritans Help Capture 100 Escaped Chickens North of Downtown Los Angeles

CHINATOWN, LOS ANGELES, Feb. 1 (KNN) — Approximately 100 chickens escaped “Peking Poultry” overnight, located in the 700 block of North Broadway in Chinatown.

A mishap with a transfer of chickens onto a truck resulted in 100 chickens escaping onto North Broadway, just north of Downtown Los Angeles, shortly after 2 a.m. Thursday.

Los Angeles Police Department officers were requested to help with traffic control and to capture the birds. A handful of good Samaritans saw the commotion and stopped to assist the workers and officers. One Uber driver was able to capture dozens of birds on his own.

Traffic in the area was stopped and slowed while the group worked to contain the birds. It is unknown how many chickens were still outstanding as they could be seen for blocks in all directions.
