Passenger arrested after running onto airfield at LAX

A man was arrested after exiting a door at the Tom Bradley International Terminal and running onto an airfield at LAX Wednesday night.

Airport police were alerted to the security breach around 8 p.m. and immediately attempted to detain the ticketed passenger.

“The suspect appeared to be under the influence of an unknown substance and did not cooperate with responding officers,” an Airport Police spokesperson told KTLA.

Video taken by Airline Videos and shared with KTLA showed the suspect running near a Singapore Airlines jet as it was taxing on the airfield.

After being taken into custody, the suspect was taken to a local hospital where he will be booked for trespassing onto a secured area of airport property, the spokesperson said.

The incident did not cause any major impacts to operations at the airport.

KTLA’s Alexis Lews contributed to this report.
