MONTEBELLO, Calif., Feb. 12 (KNN) — One person was found deceased in lanes after a traffic collision involving two vehicles on the 60 Freeway in the city of Montebello overnight.
California Highway Patrol officers from the East Los Angeles Station and the Montebello Fire Department responded to a traffic collision with a person down in lanes around 12:40 a.m. on the eastbound 60 Freeway at Paramount Boulevard, according to initial CHP information.
The individual was pronounced deceased at the scene by arriving authorities. At this time, it appears a driver exited a vehicle and was struck multiple times by freeway traffic. It is currently unknown if any victims were transported to a hospital.
The drivers of two other vehicles including a semi, had pulled over to the right shoulder of the freeway and were observed speaking to CHP officers.
The two wrecked vehicles involved in the collision were seen near the center divider.
CHP had a hard closure for all eastbound lanes of the 60 Freeway at Paramount Boulevard. All traffic was being diverted off at Paramount Boulevard.
