Flood Emergency Issued For Los Angeles, Orange, Inland Empire Zones Week of February 18th, 2024

Southern California Weather Force has issued Flood Emergency effective now for the week of February 18th, 2024, for the following areas;

Los Angeles and Orange County, The Inland Empire, and Camp Pendleton.

A Long-Range Weather Warning is now also in effect for the following areas;

San Luis Obispo, Kern, Santa Barbara, Ventura, San Diego County …. The High Desert

Discussion: The last updates have continued to show a storm pattern moving back into the area for the week of February 18th, 2024. Recent calculations within the Southern California Weather Force Precipitation Risk Model have now elevated across the forecast area, even giving emergency levels for the metros of LA/OC/IE. This is stronger than the last one in the emergency level zones.

From what I can see, a split-flow pattern will emerge. This storm pattern is currently exiting Russia’s East Coast at the time of this article write-up. It will cross the vastness of the Pacific Ocean throughout the week and finally dip down into the Southern California area by Sunday, with Saturday having precipitation along the San Luis Obispo to Vandenberg Coast.
