2 hospitalized after being mauled by pack of dogs in Azusa 02:28

Two people were hospitalized after being attacked by a pack of dogs at a home in Azusa Tuesday afternoon.

It happened just before 11:30 a.m. when the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department received a call of a dog mauling at a home in the 5000 block of N. Orange Crest in Azusa. The dogs were house pets according to the sheriff’s department.

Animal Control personnel and deputies responded to the home where one victim of the dog mauling was said to be in serious condition.

A woman was also attacked, but her injuries were not as severe. Both are expected to be okay after they were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment, sheriff’s deputies said.

Witnesses in the neighborhood recalled the aftermath as the victims were treated by paramedics.

“His shirt was ripped open … he had like blood all over his shirt and his legs. His legs were covered,” said Nicholas Jenks.

He says that as the man was being taken away by an ambulance, another family member arrived at the home and began screaming that the man should never have gotten the dogs in the first place.
