2 dead after being found inside burning vehicle in Altadena crash

Two people were pronounced dead after their vehicle overturned and caught fire in the unincorporated Altadena area early Tuesday morning.

The two-vehicle crash was reported just after 1 a.m. near West Loma Alta Drive and Glendrose Avenue.

California Highway Patrol officers arrived to find a burning Audi that had overturned with a man and a woman trapped inside.

Responding Los Angeles County firefighters extracted the victims, said to be in their 20s, but both were pronounced dead at the scene, according to the CHP.

Investigators believe speed was a factor in the crash, which occurred when the Audi crashed into the back of a parked SUV.

The Audi traveled a short distance after the collision but then overturned.
