Burglary crew busted in Southern California after multiple heists

Four members of an organized burglary crew responsible thefts across Los Angeles and the San Fernando Valley were arrested late last month, authorities announced this week.

Detectives with the Los Angeles Police Department tracked the four males, including one who is a juvenile, and moved to arrest the crew on Feb. 29 as they were preparing to commit additional burglaries, authorities said in a department news release .

At around 1:30 p.m. in Pacific Palisades, authorities arrested three of the suspects while they were still inside their vehicle near the intersection of Castellammare Drive and Sunset Boulevard.

The 17-year-old suspect attempted to flee on foot, discarding his cellphone and changing his clothes as police chased him. He was later detained.

Inside the vehicle, detectives found burglary tools and other potential evidence related to the theft crew’s illegal activities.
