Police arrest suspected killer after chase, search

LOS ANGELES – A murder suspect was taken into custody after a police chase and search that unfolded in Gardena on Tuesday.

Officers were following the suspect’s vehicle around 9:45 a.m. when he briefly led them on a pursuit and then fled on foot in the area of Gardena Boulevard and Vermont Avenue, a Los Angeles Police Department spokesperson told KTLA.

Police set up a perimeter to try and locate the suspect, who, they say, fled into an alley.

He was taken into custody several hours later.

His identity was not released, and police did not immediately offer details about the murder he was accused of committing.
