LAPD Cracks Down on Street Takeovers in Downtown L.A.

DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES, Apr. 21 (KNN) — Multiple street takeovers in Downtown Los Angeles this weekend prompted a response from the Los Angeles Police Department.

The LAPD’s Street Racing Task Force (SRT) was out Saturday night responding to reports of street takeovers all around the downtown area at approximately 11:20 p.m.

Several SRT units were in the 250 block of North Meyers Street when they requested backup for a large takeover as well as for fireworks launched in their direction.

Additional resources responded and cleared the area.

At least one vehicle from the takeover was cited and released at the scene.
