Skip Bayless’s Assertive Message for D’Angelo Russell Amid Lakers-Nuggets Playoff Game

Skip Bayless was not impressed with D’Angelo Russell’s performance during Game 5 of the Lakers-Nuggets NBA Playoff series Monday night.

The Lakers played a competitive game vs. the defending champs, but once again got poor production from their role players. Russell, in particular, lacked confidence and had a poor shooting night.

Unfortunately, it’s nothing new for Russell. He’s been great for the Lakers during the regular season but struggles once the postseason rolls around. Whether it’s the yips or improved competition, Russell is not living up to the Lakers’ standards.

During the game, Bayless took to Twitter to call out the Lakers veteran guard.

“DLo: SHOOT IT LIKE YOU MEAN IT, NOT LIKE YOU’RE AFRAID TO MISS IT,” said Bayless .

Bayless has a point. Every time D’Angelo Russell touched the ball it looked like he was afraid to shoot it. Confidence goes a long way in basketball, and Russell was clearly lacking it vs. the Nuggets.
