Thunderstorm stalls over parts of Southern California; Flash Flooding possible from heavy rain

The US National Weather Service Los Angeles/Oxnard has issued a warning regarding a nearly stationary thunderstorm cell producing significant lightning and heavy rainfall in northern Los Angeles and parts of Ventura Counties.

The storm is causing rain at rates between 1 to 1.75 inches per hour, making flash flooding likely through affected drainages in the area, according to the National Weather Service.

Although the thunderstorm has so far missed the Post Fire area, there is concern that runoff from the heavy rain could impact portions of the burn scar.

Residents in the area are urged to stay alert and take necessary precautions as flash flooding and lightning pose significant risks.
