Baby in critical condition after collision in Exposition Park area

A baby is in critical condition after it was struck by a vehicle in the Exposition Park area and one person was taken into custody as police Tuesday are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision.

Officers from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Southwest Division responded at 11:58 p.m. Monday to West Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Halldale Avenue regarding a collision with an infant, an LAPD Officer Kevin Terzes told City News Service.

The baby was taken to a hospital by Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics in critical condition.

The driver of the vehicle that struck the baby remained at the scene and cooperated with officers, police said.

One person was taken into custody at the scene, but it was not immediately known of the arrest was related to the collision, Terzes said.
