Bicyclist struck, killed by hit-and-run driver in Los Angeles

Police are searching for a hit-and-run driver who fatally struck a bicyclist in Los Angeles’ Northridge neighborhood Thursday night.

The crash was reported around 9:20 p.m. in the 8500 block of Lindley Avenue, Los Angeles Police Department Officer Cuellar said.

First responders arrived to find the severely injured bicyclist down in the street. The unidentified victim was later pronounced dead at the scene.

Witnesses said the driver fled after hitting the bicyclist and that several other vehicles also struck the victim.

Police have not confirmed the witness accounts but said an investigation is underway.

No description of the suspect or the vehicle involved has been released.
