One woman is dead and another hospitalized after a third woman opened fire during an argument in Lake Los Angeles early Friday morning.
The women, none of whom have been publicly identified by authorities, were in the 40900 block of 176th Street East just after 5:30 a.m., the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said in a news release .
Deputies found two adult women had been shot. They were taken to a local hospital, where one of them was pronounced dead; the other is in stable condition.
Investigators said what began as a “verbal dispute … then escalated” into gunfire after another adult woman “produced a firearm, shot at both victims, then fled the scene.”
