The MLB postseason is underway and tempers flared on Sunday night between the Los Angeles Dodgers and San Diego Padres.
The Dodgers took Game 1 of the NLDS on Saturday with a 7-5 victory. However, the Padres responded in a big way with a 10-2 win as they smacked six home runs to set a franchise postseason record .
The game featured plenty of chippy moments between the National League West rivals, and one of them was Dodgers pitcher Jack Flaherty chirping at Manny Machado.
Machado’s name is a sour one in Los Angeles, especially after his days with the franchise were a mixed bag.
Flaherty struck out Machado in the sixth inning and hurled some NSFW words toward the Padres’ third baseman.
Later in the game, Machado and Flaherty continued chirping . After the conclusion, Machado spoke about the back-and-forth between him and Flaherty.
“He made good pitches,” Machado said. “He won the battle…It’s a lot of emotions going through the game…The emotions run through the postseason and that’s what the beauty of this is. I don’t think this is the end of it.”
