5 members of Southern California street gang busted with cache of weapons

Police in Pasadena serving a gang warrant recovered a small cache of weapons and arrested five males, including two juveniles, authorities announced last week.

The multi-location warrant was simultaneously served on Oct. 10 at 4 a.m. at locations in the San Gabriel Valley, according to a Pasadena Police Department news release.

Authorities said the warrant was the result of a criminal investigation into a Pasadena street gang, whose illegal activities had ramped up over the last several months.

Due to the gang’s history of violence and the multiple locations where authorities were serving the warrant, Pasadena PD enlisted their SWAT unit, violent and major crimes division and special investigations section. Other agencies, including the U.S. Marshals Service, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Glendale, Burbank, Covina and West Covina police departments, also participated in the sting.
