A woman accused of stealing a Mercedes SUV led Los Angeles police on a brief high-speed chase late Wednesday morning.
The pursuit began in Huntington Beach at about 11:30 a.m., an LAPD spokesperson told KTLA 5 News.
Sky5 footage showed the driver eventually trying to get onto the 105 Freeway in the Inglewood area, going the wrong way along the shoulder. At that point, she stepped out of the vehicle and tried to run away near a small homeless encampment. She didn’t get very far.
Officers quickly spotted her near a pedestrian bridge over the freeway and took her into custody without further incident.
