A Los Angeles man died after his SUV collided head-on with a big rig during a three-vehicle wreck in Adelanto on Thursday afternoon, officials said.
Todd Davis, 59, of Los Angeles’ North Hills neighborhood died in the 1:40 p.m. crash at Highway 395 and Auburn Avenue, according to San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department and coroner’s officials.
He was driving a Chevrolet Blazer as he merged onto the southbound highway, the sheriff’s department said in a written statement . The SUV sideswiped a southbound Volkswagen Golf.
“Both vehicles crossed into the northbound lanes,” the statement said. “The Chevrolet Blazer collided head-on with a semi-truck.
Davis succumbed to his injuries at the scene, officials said. The occupants of the Volkswagen and big rig were not hurt.
