What’s going on in California is devastating right now. A number of wildfires are ravaging the greater Los Angeles area, with another one in the Hollywood Hills starting tonight. The latest fire, the Sunset Fire, has prompted a mandatory evacuation order for the area between Laurel Canyon Boulevard (on the west) to Mulholland Drive (on the north) to 101 Freeway (on the east) down to Hollywood Boulevard (on the south). https://twitter.com/CollinRugg/status/1877181014356930968 Here’s a quick rundown of the fire activity so far:
- Palisades Fire: Over 15,800 acres have been burned, with 1,792 personnel assigned to fight the blaze, as reported by Los Angeles Fire Chief Kristin Crowley.

- Woodley Fire: Now controlled, covering approximately 30 acres.
- Eaton Fire: Currently at 10,600 acres, according to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection.
- Lidia Fire: Near Acton, this fire has burned over 340 acres.
