The County’s Department of Public Health has gone on record cautioning folks to think twice before diving into the waves at Santa Monica Pier. A recent round of testing has found bacterial levels hanging out well past what’s considered healthy, specifically 100 yards up and down the coast from the pier.
The advice is about keeping the public safe from potentially harmful bacteria. The Department of Public Health has also lifted warnings for the Marie Canyon Storm Drain at Puerco Beach, where water samples have shaped up nicely and are now within State standards.
