Filmmaker Behind Bibawo Disappears Mysteriously After Landing at LAX

Los Angeles, California – A prominent Ugandan-American filmmaker who played a key role in bringing one of East Africa’s most iconic television dramas to life has been missing for over three years, and his family is growing increasingly concerned.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, Timothy Kizito, the 56-year-old founder of Bantu Productions and the creative mind behind Bibawo, a TV series produced by the celebrated Ugandan troupe The Ebonies, arrived at Los Angeles International Airport on December 17, 2021. He was expected to meet a friend shortly after landing but never showed up.

Kizito, a longtime resident of Los Angeles known for bridging African storytelling with Hollywood craftsmanship, had been in regular contact with his family until December 19, two days after his arrival, LAPD reports. On that day, he was scheduled to board a flight out of LAX, but he never made it to the airport. Since then, no one has heard from him.
