Struggling retailer JCPenney to Close Eight More Locations in 2025 including in CA, MD, CO, NC, KS

JCPenney has announced plans to shutter eight more stores across the U.S. by mid-2025, with closures affecting locations in Annapolis, MD, Newington, NH, Charleston, WV, Topeka, KS, Denver, CO, San Bruno, CA, Pocatello, ID, and Asheville, NC, the company revealed.

The closures come amid challenges such as expiring lease agreements and shifting market conditions, according to a company spokesperson.

While the retailer confirmed the closures, they emphasized that these are unrelated to its recent merger with SPARC Brands to form Catalyst Brands.
