The city of Los Angeles held Inside Safe operations on May 9 in the Beverly Grove and Miracle Mile areas, bringing approximately 20 people indoors in public areas where tents were a longstanding issue.
The operations were part of Mayor Karen Bass’ effort to house people and remove tents when temporary housing or shelter becomes available. Tents were removed from the sidewalk along Wilshire Boulevard at San Diego Way, just west of Fairfax Avenue, and along Robertson Boulevard near Burton Way. The Inside Safe operations were held in conjunction with Councilwoman Katy Yaroslavsky, 5th District.
“Public spaces where neighbors gather exemplify the spirit of our city coming together,” Bass said. “By connecting people living on the streets or in parks with secure housing and supportive services, we ensure the health and wellbeing of all residents and the community as a whole.”…
