‘Something that’s never going to go away’: Family sues funeral home over body mix-up

COMPTON, Calif. (KCAL/KCBS/CNN Newsource/WKRC) – A California family is suing after a distressing mix-up led them to receive the wrong body for a funeral. Amentha Hunt, the niece of the deceased, said she was shocked to find a stranger dressed in her uncle’s suit when she went to view his body.

“It shouldn’t have happened. I didn’t make arrangements there to see the wrong body,” Hunt said.

Hunt’s 80-year-old uncle had passed away, and she had chosen the Harrison-Ross Mortuary to prepare him for burial. However, upon viewing the body, she immediately noticed something was amiss…
