An 18-year-old was arrested after leading police on a high-speed chase that clocked over 100 miles per hour on Southern California’s freeways. According to KTLA, the incident occurred late Monday night around 10:15 p.m., when Simi Valley Police Department officers, already surveying a spot known for car meet-ups, spotted two vehicles racing on the 118 Freeway.
The pursuit ignited when one of the racers, later identified as Travis Sehler, refused to stop and reportedly tried to elude the police by turning off his headlights. He accelerated rapidly, pushing speeds that exceeded the century mark, which led the officers to aggressively chase in an attempt to apprehend the suspect. During the chase, Sehler’s vehicle made contact with another vehicle that was uninvolved in the race, causing minor damage but no injuries, as reported by the Simi Valley Police Department.
