Los Angeles firefighters hoist man stuck in manhole to safety

Firefighters used a rope to hoist a man who was stuck in a manhole to safety early Sunday morning.

The Los Angeles Fire Department stated that the technical rescue occurred around 2:15 p.m. in the 12400 block of Osborne Street in Pacoima. One man was stuck in a manhole when crews arrived.

Using a rope system to reach the man, he was successfully hoisted to the surface for medical treatment. Video from the Citizen App shows a large law enforcement presence at the scene.

It is also unknown how or why the man was in the manhole in the first place…
