‘Everything is gone’: Fire wipes out row of businesses in L.A.’s Harvard Park neighborhood

A massive fire left a row of businesses badly damaged or destroyed in the Harvard Park neighborhood of Los Angeles early Thursday morning.

More than 100 firefighters responded to the blaze reported shortly after 2 a.m. on the 1700 block of West Slauson Avenue to find several one-story commercial buildings engulfed in flames.

The crews doused the fire in a little over 45 minutes, but not before it spread to several buildings, including an upholstery shop, a woodworking business, a floral shop and a nearby apartment complex…
