Friday marks a momentous occasion for travel in Los Angeles County.
This evening, the LAX/Metro Transit Center Station will begin providing the best public transportation access to the airport that Southern Californians have ever had.
For now, the station will connect to the airport through a free shuttle that runs every 10 minutes, but next year, the opening of the Automated People Mover will make transit even easier.
But even ahead of the APM’s opening, the Transit Center Station’s connections to the C and K rail lines, as well as bus routes and airport shuttles, will help close “one of the most egregious gaps in L.A. transit infrastructure,” as until now, getting to LAX via public transit has been extremely difficult…
