An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 3.4 rattled the coastal Los Angeles County area Tuesday.
According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake struck at 12:15 p.m. The epicenter was about 8.9 miles west-southwest of Manhattan Beach and Hermosa Beach, at a depth of roughly 6.84 miles.
There were no initial reports of any damage or injuries.
