Los Angeles Metro Faces Decrease in Ridership

Since immigration enforcement measures in Los Angeles County have intensified, the Los Angeles Metro has reported a decrease in ridership. According to the LA Metro, there has been a 10 to 15% decline in passengers.LA Metro issued a statement on their Instagram account, where they expressed their support for peaceful protests. “Metro stands with all immigrants,” they said.“Metro does not collect immigration status information,” the statement continues, “Metro has not been asked to coordinate with immigration enforcement.”However, Metro also stated that they cannot prevent “any local, state or federal law enforcement agency” from “boarding or visiting any of our public facilities.”…..
