A teenager has died after being “sucked into” a meat grinder at a burrito factory, a representative for the City of Vernon told People in a statement.
On Sunday, July 13, a 19-year-old who was employed as a sanitation worker at the Tina’s Burrito food processing plant in Vernon, CA, was reportedly cleaning a meat grinding machine in the facility’s kitchen when it accidentally became activated. The victim, who has not been publicly identified, was then “sucked into” the machine. After falling in, the young man shouted for help, and several other employees in the area tried to shut off the machine and pull the victim out. However, they were unsuccessful. When authorities arrived, they found the teenager deceased inside the machine.
