LOS ANGELES — On the grounds of the West Los Angeles Veterans Affairs campus, Navy veteran Kitron Wedding opened the back of his U-Haul truck — his entire life packed into cardboard boxes.
Wedding — a Virginia native — moved to LA with hopes of steady work and a future in environmental engineering. A few months after the move, Wedding said, “the job didn’t work out,” and pretty soon, he struggled to make rent.
