In a significant crackdown on organized crime, the FBI, in conjunction with various law enforcement agencies, has arrested members of the Mexican Mafia prison gang following raids in Los Angeles, San Bernardino, and Orange counties, seizing weapons, drugs, and illicit gains.
The series of operations, led by the FBI’s San Diego Field Office–Imperial County Resident Agency, involved the coordination of the FBI Los Angeles, FBI SWAT, and ATF Los Angeles–El Centro Office, the Imperial County Sheriff’s Office (ICSO) Border Crime Suppression Team, and the United States Marshals Service. The operations resulted in the arrest of five individuals believed to be linked to the notorious prison gang. The arrests come as part of an ongoing investigation into illicit activities conducted by the group.
