A fire broke out Tuesday evening in the Hollywood Hills, consuming homes and cars as flames spread through the area.
The Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) responded to a report near the 2200 block of North Sunset Plaza Drive shortly before 6:45 p.m. PDT. Aerial footage showed the blaze engulfing houses and parked vehicles. As of 7 p.m., officials had not released an estimate of the number of homes or cars damaged. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
By 7:30 p.m., “all active flames have been extinguished and forward progress stopped,” according to an LAFD report. “Helicopters will continue water drops between homes to cool hotspots, while hand crews begin working toward 100% containment on the very steep terrain.”
No injuries were reported as of 7:30 p.m., though shelter-in-place orders were still in effect for areas in the immediate vicinity…
