A 38-year-old woman was taken to a burn center in critical condition after a mattress caught fire in an apartment on Los Angeles’ Westside early Friday morning.
Los Angeles firefighters were sent to the two-story apartment building on the 10300 block of West Bellwood Avenue in Century City around 5:45 a.m.
Smoke was seen coming from a second-floor unit as crews arrived, the L.A. Fire Department stated in a news alert.
