Dr. Dre Gets the Wheels Turning on Mobile Farmers Market in LA

Music industry legend and philanthropist Dr. Dre has made a donation to Prosperity Market to enable the company to build two more mobile trailers as part of its mission to increase food access in Los Angeles while supporting diverse business partners.

Founded in 2020 by makeup and fashion industry vets Carmen Dianne and Kara Still, Prosperity Market is a mobile farmers market featuring Black farmers, food producers and chefs. Dianne and Still unveiled their first fully built solar-powered and electric trailer at the 2023 LA Auto Show.

Part food truck, part farmers market, the new 48-foot trailers will travel throughout Los Angeles with shelves stocked with produce and goods from Black-owned businesses (including both local and national brands like Ghetto Gastro, Ghost Town Oats, The Farmer Ken and Gloria’s Shito). The trailers will also feature a rotating roster of LA chefs working on innovative menus in the trailers’ kitchens.

“Dr. Dre is a legend, and knows excellence when he sees it, so for him to see it in us is affirming and inspiring,” said Dianne. “We’ve been building Prosperity Market since 2020, and everything we have built over the last four years has been in service of our vision for the mobile trailers. His contribution will not only help Prosperity Market grow exponentially, but also all the businesses we work with and communities we serve.”…
