LAPD Announces Weekend DUI Crackdown With Citywide Checkpoints and Patrols

The Los Angeles Police Department will conduct a series of DUI checkpoints and saturation patrols across the city from Friday, September 19, through Monday, September 22, in an effort to reduce impaired driving and enhance public safety.

According to the department, checkpoint locations are selected using data on past DUI-related crashes and arrests. Officers will focus on educating drivers about the dangers of driving under the influence and removing impaired motorists from the roads.

Checkpoint and Patrol Schedule:

  • Friday, Sept. 19: DUI checkpoints will operate from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. at Florence Boulevard and Main Street, and at La Brea Avenue and Oakwood Avenue.
  • Saturday, Sept. 20: A DUI saturation patrol will be active in the Pacific Area from noon to 8 p.m.
  • Sunday, Sept. 21: DUI checkpoints will run from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. at Olympic Boulevard and Georgia Street, and at Venice Boulevard and Western Avenue. A saturation patrol will take place in the Van Nuys Area from noon to 8 p.m.
  • Monday, Sept. 22: A checkpoint will operate from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. at Laurel Canyon and Riverside Drive, with a saturation patrol scheduled from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. in the Pacific Division.
