Culver City man gets 2 weeks in federal prison for drone strike on plane during January fires

The Culver City man who flew a drone that collided with a firefighting plane during the wildfires in January will serve two weeks in prison and be subject to house arrest and fines.

Peter Tripp Akemann, 57, flew a drone that struck a plane known as the Super Scooper Quebec 1 while the aircraft, which was leased from the Canadian government, was battling the Palisades Fire.
