Cause of death sought for girl found in trunk

The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner is continuing the investigation into the death of Celeste Rivas Hernandez, a 15-year-old girl from Riverside County whose body was found on Sept. 8 in the trunk of a Tesla registered to the singer-songwriter known as D4vd, whose real name is David Anthony Burke.

The body was in an advanced state of decomposition and authorities believe it had been in the trunk for an extended period of time. The medical examiner’s office conducted an autopsy, but the cause of death was not determined pending the outcome of additional tests, which were not completed as of press time. In many cases, the tests take several weeks to complete. The case is also being investigated by the Los Angeles Police Department’s Robbery-Homicide Division.

Hernandez, of Lake Elsinore, was reported missing by her family in April 2024 when she was 13 years old.
