The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors is considering declaring a state of emergency in response to ongoing ICE raids. It would give the board more power to assist people impacted by federal detainments and deportations.
The declaration would also allow L.A. County to speed up hiring for roles that assist tenants. The state of emergency could be the first step in issuing an eviction moratorium for residents who have lost income due to ICE raids.
