Marshalls confirms permanent closure of locations – with final day of service for two stores just weeks away

DISCOUNT retailer Marshalls is set to close two of its major California stores, marking another blow to the high street as big-name chains continue to struggle.

The bargain-hunting favourite confirmed it will shut down its Hollywood and San Jose branches early next year, with more than 120 jobs set to be axed.

According to new Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) filings, the closures will happen on January 5, 2026, affecting 62 staff in Los Angeles and 64 in San Jose.

The Los Angeles store – located at 7013 Hollywood Boulevard, just steps from Madame Tussauds and the TCL Chinese Theatre – sits on some of the most famous retail real estate in America…
