TikToker Wounded by Feds in South LA to Ask for Pretrial Release

A man purportedly living in the U.S. illegally who livestreams ICE raids on social media and was shot and arrested during a confrontation with federal agents in South Los Angeles is expected to ask a judge Friday to release him while he awaits trial.

Carlitos Parias, 44, better known as Richard LA, who has more than 135,000 followers on TikTok and regularly posts videos documenting police, fire and immigration enforcement incidents in Los Angeles, is charged with assault on a federal officer, which could carry up to eight years in federal prison.

A detention hearing is set Friday in Los Angeles federal court before a magistrate judge who will hear arguments for and against Parias’ pretrial release. His arraignment is scheduled for Nov. 17…
