SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — A Los Angeles singer who was arrested at San Francisco International Airport in June 2024 with more than 14 pounds of methamphetamine was sentenced Monday to two years in county jail, according to the San Mateo County District Attorney’s Office.
Juan Paz-Guzman, 24, pleaded no contest on Sept. 8, 2025, to felony possession of methamphetamine for purposes of sale and admitted to the enhancement allegation of carrying over 4 kilograms. The plea deal would have put Paz-Guzman in jail for more than six years; However, on Monday, Judge Kevin Dunleavy struck the weight enhancement and sentenced him to two years, the DA’s office said.
On June 26, 2024, a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) agent at SFO was conducting random bag searches when he inspected Paz-Guzman’s two suitcases. Under a false bottom in both pieces of luggage, the agent located five heat-sealed packages of methamphetamine, prosecutors said.
