Person rescued from under train in Rancho Park, hospitalized in critical condition

Firefighters rescued a person who became trapped under a Metro E Line train in Rancho Park late Sunday morning, officials confirmed.

Los Angeles Fire Department crews responded around 10:30 a.m. to the 2600 block of South Westwood Boulevard, where they found one person pinned beneath an above-ground train. The person’s condition was not immediately available.

Officials said the extrication operation was “challenging” due to limited access beneath the train. The patient was safely freed around 10:58 a.m. and taken to a hospital in at least critical condition, according to LAFD…
